About PROJECT NOVA

           Project Nova was a response by kayakasia Philippines, an eco-adventure kayak-touring company that had to cease its operations at the height of Covid-19. As our tourism-dependent business suffered, we were faced with the challenge to keep our full time and part-time staff employed and stay engaged. With the uncertainly of the borders opening again grew, we hatched out ideas and challenge ourselves to learn new skills while still pursuing dreams closer to our philosophy.

Guided by our vision to leave a habitable Earth for the future generations, this upcycling initiative was born.

            The  project is now an Integral branch of our company and it closes the loop on our main waste component - use & retired kayaks. By handcrafting it into durable everyday-carry-bags (ECB) the project has kept employed 80% of our kayak guides and staff employed full-time thru the pandemic.

We commit to a sustainable manufacturing process to keep low our environmental footprint in the production of each bag. By using 80% upcycled materials from used inflatable kayaks, discarded inner tire tubes & aged camping tents, these deemed trash are keep away from our landfills which pollutes our land, water & seas.
